ABOUT JOHNS HOPKINS KSEA
The Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) is a national non-profit organization with over 6000 registered members. The organization comprises of over 70 local chapters/branches across the country. The Johns Hopkins KSEA YG chapter was founded in 2012 and has since worked to promote the mission and values of the KSEA organization.
MISSION
1. Promote friendship and fellowship among Korean-American professionals engaged in science, engineering, health and related fields.
2. Enhance the professional and social status of Korean-American professionals engaged in science, engineering, and related fields.
3. Promote and cultivate the next generation of Korean-American scientists and engineers.

Why should I join KSEA?

KSEA offers its members the opportunity to get more involved with science and engineering-related opportunities all year long. We host numerous helpful and meaningful events through the school year, from networking events to career panel events.

How do I join KSEA?

Sign up to be a member of KSEA at https://www.ksea.org/join.aspx. To be more involved in the JHU chapter of KSEA, you can apply for a board member position early Fall, and possibly early Spring if there are position openings. Look out for us at Student Involvement Fair and send us an email at ksea.yg.jhu@gmail.com for more information.

Do I have to be science and/or engineering-related major to join KSEA?

Absolutely not. We encourage individuals of all different backgrounds to join our group and promote the mission and goals of KSEA.

What are your big events of the year?

Some of our regular events include the Freshmen Mentoring Event, career panels, and mentoring programs. Every year, our board develops new and exciting events/programs, so look out for them throughout the year!

Will KSEA have in person events?

We are extremely mindful of public health safety and the current state of the global pandemic, but we hope to start hosting in-person events again starting in Fall 2021. Look out for updates when the Fall semester comes around!

What is my time commitment in joining this organization?

If part of the KSEA board, time commitment is approximately 2 hours per week.
